Perth honeyed pears
“The apple meets its match for versatility and taste”
- 6 pears, any type
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 stick cinnamon, 5-6 cm long
- 2 cloves
Method
Peel pears, leaving stalk attached, and place in a saucepan. In another saucepan, combine honey, orange juice, lemon juice, water and spices and bring to boil. Pour over pears. Put lid on saucepan and simmer gently until cooked (test with a sharp knife or skewer). Baste pears from time to time with the syrup as they cool. Serve with whipped cream.Serves 6
